Nepal’s poor start in the Top End T20 series, lost by 42 runs

Nepal has had a poor start to the Top End T20 series. Nepal got off to a poor start in the tournament, losing to NT Strike by 42 runs in the first match of the series.

Chasing the target of 178 runs set by the NT strike, Nepal scored 135 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. For Nepal, Kushal Malla top-scored with 34 runs, while Gulshan Jha scored 26, captain Rohit Poudel scored 23, and Dipendra Singh Airee scored 19 runs. Aasif Sheikh scored 11 runs, and Kushal Bhurtel scored 8 runs.

NT strike bowler Matt Hammond took 3 wickets, while Kane Richardson and Tom Andrews took 2 wickets each. Earlier, NT Strike, who had lost the toss and elected to bat first, scored 177 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

D’Arcy Short top-scored for the NT Strikes with 51 runs, while Tom Andrews scored 32, Jordan Silk scored 19, and Connor Carroll scored 18 runs.

Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets, while Shahab Alam took 2 wickets, Rupesh Singh, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Gulshan Kumar Jha took one wicket each. Nepal is now scheduled to play Bangladesh A on Saturday.
