ICC T-20 CWC : Nepal lost to Bangladesh in the last group stage match

Nepal lost against Bangladesh by 21 runs in the last group stage match of ICC T-20 Cricket World Cup 2024. Chasing the target of 107 runs given by Bangladesh, Nepal could score only 85 runs in 19.2 overs losing all wickets.

Kushal Malla scored the highest 27 runs off 40 balls for Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 25 runs off 31 balls and Aasif Sheikh for 17 runs off 14 balls the other Nepalese batters could not score runs in double figures.

Tanjim Hasan Shakib took the most four wickets for Bangaldesh. Mustafizur Rahman took three wickets, Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets and Taskin Ahmed took one wicket for Bangladesh.

Ealier loosing toss Bangladesh batted first and set the targer of 107 runs. Shakib Al Hasan scored the highest of 17 runs for Bangladesh. Mahmudullah got run out making 13 runs. Rishad Hossain made 13 runs. Jaker Ali and Taskin Ahmed scored 12 runs. Litton Das scored 10 runs and rest batters couldn’t score in double digits for Bangladesh.

Sandeep Lamichhane got his 100 wickets and second fastest T-20 I wickets in this particular game. He took two wickets. He dismissed Jaker Ali and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Likewise Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, Rohit Poudel took 2 wickets each for Nepal.

With the win, Bangladesh has reached the Super Eight by adding 6 points from four matches. Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by two wickets and Netherlands by 25 runs. South Africa lost by four runs.

Nepal lost to Netherlands by 6 wickets and South Africa by one run. Nepal got one point when the match against Sri Lanka was called off due to rain. Nepal has ended the World Cup with this one point.
