Ravichandran Ashwin retired from international cricket
Indian cricket team off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has retired from international cricket. After the Test match against Australia in Brisbane was tied, Ashwin said that this was his last day with the Indian cricket team. After the match, Ashwin attended a press conference with captain Rohit Sharma and announced his retirement.
Ashwin said, ‘This is my last day as an Indian cricketer at the international level. I am retiring from all formats of international cricket. I believe I still have some left in me as a cricketer, but now I am ready to use it. “I will probably perform in club-level cricket.”
Ashwin said, ‘I enjoyed the game a lot during my career. It has many wonderful memories attached to it. I remember the moments I spent with Rohit Sharma and many of his friends, there are also memories associated with him in the dressing room.’
He said- ‘I want to thank BCCI. Apart from this, there are many names. The most important among them are Rohit, Virat Kohli, Azikhya, and Pujara, who took many good catches off my ball. This is a very emotional moment.’ 38-year-old Ashwin has played 106 matches and taken 537 wickets in his career. He took 10 wickets 8 times in the match. Ashwin’s performance in batting was also good. He has also scored 6 centuries and 14 fifties.
