ACC U-16 East Zone: Nepal beats Japan by 9 wickets

Nepal has secured its second consecutive win in the ongoing ACC U-16 East Zone tournament. Nepal defeated Japan by 9 wickets in the second match held on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 81 runs set by Japan, Nepal achieved the target in 14.2 overs for the loss of one wicket. For Nepal, the famous Jaisi scored an unbeaten 33, and Shivansh Bajgain scored an unbeaten 38 runs.

Earlier, Japan, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, were all out for 80 runs in 34.3 overs. Captain Charlie Harahinje top-scored for Japan with 36 runs while Gabby Harahinje scored 13 runs. No other batsman in the side could score double figures.

Similarly, Nepali bowler Shubham Khanal took 5 wickets, while Abhay Yadav took 2 wickets and Sushil Bahadur Rawal and captain Bipin Sharma took one wicket each.

This victory marks Nepal’s second consecutive win, while Japan suffered its first loss in the second match. U-16 teams from Nepal, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Bhutan, Hong Kong China, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, and the Maldives are participating in this competition. Nepal is now scheduled to play against Indonesia on June 29 and Bhutan on July 1 in the competition.
