Farewell to the Nepalese team going to play Women’s U-19 World Cup Cricket

The Nepal women’s cricket team which will participate in the U-19 World Cup cricket starting next week in Malaysia, has been bid farewell.

Officials of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bid farewell to the players in a program organized at Dushit Prince in Lazimpat, Kathmandu on Thursday morning.

CAN has announced the Nepali team that will play in the Women’s U-19 Cricket World Cup. CAN announced a 15-member team under the captaincy of Pooja Mahato to play in the World Cup.

The Nepalese team consists of Puja Mahato (Captain), Soni Pakhrin (Vice-Captain), Sana Parveen, Jyotsika Marasini, Kusum Godar, Alisha Kumari Yadav, Sabitri Dhami, Krishma Gurung, Trisna BK, Kiran Kumari Kunwar, Riya Sharma, Rachana Chaudhary, Seema KC, Sneha Mahara and Anu Kadayat.

Nepal is in Group D in the World Cup. Group D includes Australia, Bangladesh and Scotland along with Nepal. Nepal is playing the first match against Bangladesh on January 18 and the second match is playing against Scotland on January 20.

Similarly, they are scheduled to play against Australia on January 22. Sixteen countries are participating in this World Cup, which will start from January 18 in Malaysia.

Along with Nepal, the hosts are Malaysia, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Nigeria, Samoa, Scotland and America.
