ICC T-20 CWC : USA’s historical win over Pakistan
USA defeated Pakistan in the ICC T-20 Cricket World Cup 2024. The game tied and went into super over.
Chasing the target of 19 runs given by the USA in the Super Over, Pakistan scored 13 runs after losing one wicket, then the USA won the game by 5 runs.
Earlier, after chasing the target of 160 runs given by Pakistan, USA scored 159 runs in 20 overs losing 3 wickets, then the match was decided in super over. USA equalized after hitting a four in the last ball with 5 runs needed.
Captain Monak Patel scored the highest 50 runs for USA, while Andries Gouse scored 35 runs and Aaron Jones scored 36 unbeaten runs for USA.
Earlier, Pakistan lost the toss and batted first and scored 159 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Pakistan, captain Babar Azam scored 44 runs while Shadab Khan scored 40 runs. Similarly, Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 23 unbeaten runs.
Nosthush Kenjige took 3 wickets and Saurabh Netravalkar took 2 wickets for USA
After this victory, USA won two consecutive games in Group A and gained 4 points. Earlier, America had defeated Canada.
Now Pakistan is playing another match against India on Sunday, while USA will play against India on June 12.
