IPL 2024 : Shashank Singh’s heroic performance led Punjab Kings to victory
Punjab Kings won dramatically over Gujarat Titans. In last night’s match, Punjab defeated Gujarat by 3 wickets.
Chasing the target of 200 runs given by Gujarat, Punjab achieved the target by losing 7 wickets in 19.5 overs. The hero for Punjab King’s victory was Shashank Singh. Shashank played and unbeaten innings of 61 runs off 29 balls.
Prabhasimran Singh 35, Ashutosh Sharma 31, Jonny Bairstow 22, Jitesh Sharma 16 and Sikandar Raja 15 while Harpreet Barad remained unbeaten with 1 run.
Gujarat’s Noor Ahmed took the most 2 wickets. Azmatullah Omarzai, Umesh Yadav, Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma and Darshan Nalkande got 1/1 wicket each.
After losing the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat lost 4 wickets and scored 199 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Gill remained unbeaten and scored the highest 89 runs. He played 48 balls and hit 6 fours and 4 sixes.
Sai Sudarshan was dismissed for 33, Kane Williamson for 26, Wriddhiman Saha for 11 and Vijay Shankar for 8 while Rahul Tewatia remained unbeaten on 23.
Punjab’s Kagiso Rabada took the most 2 wickets. Harpreet Brar and Harshal Patel got 1/1 wicket each.
After this victory, Punjab has got 4 points with 2 wins and 2 losses in 4 matches, while Gujarat also has 4 points with 2 wins and 2 losses in 4 matches.
