Salah’s Hattrick, Manchester United’s embarrassing defeat to Liverpool
Manchester United suffered a humiliating defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday in the English Premier League.Mohamed Salah’s hat-trick helped Liverpool to a 5-0 victory.
Mohamed Salah performed brilliantly. Liverpool took a 4-0 lead in the first half. Midfielder Nabi Keita scored on Salah’s pass to give Liverpool the lead in the fifth minute. Then in the 14th minute Diego Jota doubled the lead Taking advantage of United’s weak defense, Trent Alexander Arnold’s cross was converted by Jota in the empty post.
Salah scored in the 38th minute through a pass from Keita to make it 3-0. In the fifth minute of injury time, Salah scored his second individual goal on a pass from Jota to give Liverpool 4-0 lead. Salah completed a hat trick early in the second half. He made good use of Jordan Henderson’s superb pass in the 50th minute. Henderson’s offside trap from midfield was followed by an outside foot pass from inside the penalty area.
Two minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo scored for United, but the goal was disallowed. United were reduced to 10 men in the 60th minute. Paul Pogba, who replaced Mason Greenwood in the second half, was sent off for a red card.
In the 83rd minute, Cavani’s shot hit the crossbar and United could not score a consolation goal. With this result, Liverpool remains in the second place of the table. The team has added 21 points in 9 games with 6 wins and 3 draws. United is in seventh place with 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. Chelsea is in the top of the table with 22 points.
