IPL : Mumbai Indians reached the second qualifier
Mumbai Indians have reached the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the eliminator match completed on Wednesday night, Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giant by 81 runs and reached the second qualifier. Chasing the target of 183 runs given by Mumbai, Lucknow lost the match by 81 runs after scoring 101 runs in 16.3 overs.

For Lucknow, Marcus Stoinis scored 40 runs, Kyle Mayers scored 18 runs and Deepak Hooda scored 15 runs. Other batsmen of Lucknow could not score runs in double figures. Similarly, Mumbai bowler Akash Madhwal took the most 5 wickets while Chris Jordan and Piyush Chawla took one wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Mumbai batted first and scored 182 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Cameron Green scored 41 runs and Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 runs ,Tilak Varma scored 26 runs, Nehal Wadhera scored 23 runs, Ishan Kishan scored 15 runs, Tim David scored 13 runs and captain Rohit Sharma scored 11 runs.

Lucknow’s IPL journey has come to an end with the defeat in this match. Mumbai Indians have reached the second qualifier and will now face Gujarat Titans to decide their journey to the finals. Second qualifier match will be on May 26,2023 Friday.
