Lumbini makes a winning start in NPL, defeats Chitwan by 6 wickets
Lumbini Lions have made a winning start to the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Lumbini defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 6 wickets in the match held on Thursday.
Chasing a target of 143 runs set by Chitwan, Lumbini achieved the target in 18.3 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. For Lumbini, Gulbadin Naib scored an unbeaten 44 runs, while captain Rohit Poudel scored 39 runs and Sandeep Jora scored 28 runs.
Earlier, Chitwan, who had batted first after losing the toss, scored 142 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ravi Bopara top-scored for Chitwan with 66 runs, while captain Kushal Malla scored 21, Saif Zaib 15 and Dev Khanal scored 14 runs.
Similarly, Lumbini bowler Ruben Trumpelman took 3 wickets, while Abhishek Gautam and Gulbadin Naib took 2 wickets each.
