Steven Gerrard appointed as Aston Villa’s manager
Steven Gerrard has been appointed coach of English Premier League club Aston Villa. Gerrard and Villa have an agreement for 3 years and 6 months. Gerard had previously coached the Rangers. Gerrard led the Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title. The Rangers won their first title in 10 years.
Gerard will now replace Dean Smith at Villa. Villa fired Smith last Sunday. He was sacked after losing five games in a row. Villa are currently 16th in the Premier League.
Gerrard played 710 games for Liverpool. He won nine titles for Liverpool and played one season in 2015 for American club LA Galaxy. He retired in 2016. He coached Liverpool’s U-18 team in the 2017-18 season.
He played 114 international games for the English football team and scored 21 international goals.
