NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards 2080 to be held on Bhadra 28

NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards 2080 will be held on 28tht Bhadra at Nepal Pragya Pratishthan in Kathmandu. An agreement was reached between the forum and the main sponsor Golcha Group on Wednesday for the 21st edition of the award, which is organized every year under the auspices of the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum.

The agreement was signed by Director Abhimanyu Golcha on behalf of Golcha Group and Chairman Durganath Subedi on behalf of sports journalist forum. According to the agreement, Golchha Group will give the new NS 400 series pulsar bike that Golchha is going to bring to the market to one winner and NS 200 bike to the other four winners.

Similarly, it was announced in a press conference held on Wednesday that the platform will be given 1.2 million cash rupees. Director Golchha said on that occasion, “The speed, ability and spirit of the Pulsar bike and the players match. We believe that the respect we give to the players has helped the field of sports.

This is the 16th year of collaboration between Nepal Sports Journalist Forum and Golcha Group for the award.\


This year, along with the sports awards, the platform will also organize the congress of the Asian Sports Journalists Federation (AIPS Asia) at the same time, it was said in the contract program on Wednesday. Sports Journalist Forum AIPS is a member country of Asia. The congress will be held from August 25 to 28. Sports journalists from 33 Asian countries will be present at the congress.

Subedi, the chairman of the forum, said, “What is special about the award this time is that journalists from all over Asia will watch this prestigious award program of Nepal live.”


This year the award includes 10 categories. The categories are Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year, Young Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, People’s Choice Award, Para Athlete Award, Special Award, Team of the Air, Lifetime Achievement Award and Asian Sports Journalist Award.

Out of this, the winner of Man, Woman, Youth, Trainer and People’s Choice Award of the Year will receive a bike, while the winner of 4 categories Team of the Air, Lifetime Achievement, Special and Para Athlete Award will be given 1 lakh rupees, it was informed in the program.

The general secretary of the platform, Prajwal Oli, said that earlier, 50,000 rupees were awarded to the winners of these categories.


In the event, Honorary President of NNIPA, Deepak Bista, said that the award program which is being organized continuously by the platform is becoming a matter of great encouragement for Nepali athletes.

He said, ‘This is the biggest honor and encouragement program for us players. For this, we want to express our gratitude to the stage and sponsoring Golcha Group.


To make the Pulsar Sports Award program a success, the main organizing committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the chairman of the forum, Durganath Subedi. Also, various sub-committees have been formed for the award program, according to the release.

Last year, Deepak Adhikari of athletics for men, Rajpura Pachai of athletics for women, Devkumar Khanal of cricket in youth and Chandra Bahadur Gurung of athletics were the best in coaching. Sikka Suwal Shrestha won the People’s Choice Award for table tennis.

The special award was given to photojournalist Sudarshan Ranjith. Para Athlete Award was given to athletics para athlete Maiya Bishunkhe, Asian Sports Journalist Award to Chinese sports journalist Chew Chan Fai and Lifetime Achievement Award to weightlifting Olympian Rajendra Kumar Pradhan.
