Nepali cricket team returned home
Nepalese cricket team has has returned to Nepal . Team arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday after completing the group stage matches of ICC T-20 cricket world cup 2024.
\Nepal played four matches losing three matches and drawing one match in the ICC T-20 cricket world cup 2024.
The Nepalese team was welcomed by CAN officials at the Tribhuvan International Airport. The team came in two groups. One group arrived this morning at 1 AM and the other group arrived at 10 AM. Head coach Monty Desai didn’t travel with the team while Sandeep Lamichhane will reach Nepal in two days time.
In World Cup Cricket, Nepal was placed in Group ‘D’. Nepal’s group included South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. In their first Nepal was defeated by 6 wickets against Netherlands.
The second match against Sri Lanka canceled due to rain, both teams shared a point . After that, in the match against South Africa Nepal was defeated by a narrow margin of one run. Similarly, in the last match of the group stage, Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 21 runs and Nepal’s World Cup journey came to an end.
