Griezmann retires from international football

French attacking midfielder Antoine Griezmann has retired from international football.

33-year-old Griezmann announced his retirement in a post on social media on Monday. Announcing his retirement, he said – ‘I am closing this chapter of my life with a heart full of memories.’

Griezmann, who is currently playing professional football for the Spanish club Atlético Madrid, made his debut for France in 2014. He has played 137 matches for France and scored 44 goals.

Griezmann, who played in the national team as part of France’s U-19 team, was an important member of the team that won France the World Cup in 2018. Also, he was in the team even though he was the runner-up in the 2022 World Cup.
