Manchester City won the UEFA Super Cup title for the first time by defeating the Spanish club Sevilla in a penalty shootout in the match completed last night.
The game was decided by a penalty shootout after it was tied at 1-1 at the scheduled time. Sevilla took the lead in the 25th minute of the game with the goal of Youssef Nesyari, and the game was tied after conceding a goal in the 63rd minute of the game. Cole Palmer equalized the game with a goal for City.
After Sevilla missed their fifth penalty in the subsequent penalty shootout, City won the game as well as the title.
The UEFA Super Cup is played between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League last season. Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan have won this title the most 5 times each.
