Nepal suffered another defeat under the joint qualification of FIFA World Cup 2026 and Asian Cup 2027. Nepal lost 4-0 in the first league against UAE as part of World Cup selection.

Nepal lost 4-0 in the match against UAE which was played in Saudi Arabia on Thursday night.

UAE scored 2 goals in the first half and also scored 2 goals in the second half. For UAE, Harib Abdallah Suhail scored 2 goals, while Ali Saleh and Hazem Mohammad scored one goal each.

With this defeat, Nepal suffered its fifth consecutive defeat in the World Cup qualifiers this time. Now Nepal is scheduled to play another match against Yemen on June 11.

These games, which were supposed to be played at the home ground, were played in Saudi Arabia as a ‘neutral venue’ as the Dashrath stadium was not suitable for international matches.

After AFC said that the infrastructure of Dashrath Stadium is not suitable for playing international matches, Nepal has lost the opportunity to play at home. Earlier, Nepal also played a match against Bahrain in Bahrain.
