Pakistan wins Asia Cup Rising Stars title
Pakistan has won the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars title. Pakistan A won the title by defeating Bangladesh A in a super over in the final played in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh A elected to bowl first and bowled out Pakistan A for 125 runs in 20 overs. Saad Masood top-scored with 38 runs for Pakistan A, while Ripon Mondal took 3/25 for Bangladesh A.
Chasing the target, Bangladesh A, who batted first, could only score 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, resulting in a draw. The match was then decided in the Super Over.
Bangladesh A could only score 6 runs in the Super Over. After that, Pakistan A’s batsmen achieved the target of 7 runs in 4 balls. Earlier, Bangladesh A had reached the final of the tournament by defeating India in the semi-final, which also went to a super over.
