Nepal secures a tremendous victory against Sri Lanka

Nepal has won its second match against Sri Lanka under the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship by a wide margin. Nepal won the match on Thursday afternoon by a margin of 7-0.

In the match played at the Bashundhara Sports Ground in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Nepal scored 4 goals in the first half and added 3 goals in the second half.

Samiksha Magar scored 2 goals for Nepal, while Purnima Rai, Kusum Khatiwada, Sarita Nath, and Birsna Chaudhary scored one goal each. One such goal was an own goal.
In the 15th minute, Purnima gave Nepal the lead with a tap-in goal. In the 35th minute, Kusum doubled the lead with a goal. In the 43rd minute, Sarita Nath scored a free kick to give Nepal a 3-0 lead.

Similarly, in the 45th minute, Kusum’s shot was deflected off a defender and scored, giving Nepal a 4-0 lead. Birsna further increased the lead with a penalty in the 67th minute of the second half. Samiksha Magar scored in the 74th and 78th minutes to extend the lead to 7-0.

In the 90th minute, Birsana’s next penalty kick was saved by the Sri Lankan goalkeeper. After that, there were no goals, and Nepal won 7-0.

Earlier, Nepal had won the first match against Sri Lanka 7-0. After the win, Nepal has climbed to the top spot with 9 points from 4 matches. Bangladesh, which has played one match less, is currently second on goal difference with 9 points after remaining undefeated in 3 matches.
