Pubudu Dasanayake has arrived in Nepal
Newly appointed coach of the Nepali national cricket team Pubudu Dasanayake has arrived in Nepal on Tuesday. Pubudu was in charge of the Nepali team when Nepal won the Division 4 and 3 titles.
The board meeting of CAN on 15 December had approved Pubudu as the head coach. Earlier, Nepal had played in Pubudu’s training from 2011 to 2015.
“I came for the Everest Premier League (EPL) two months ago. I am very happy to be back in Nepal. When I first came in 2011 and now is very different. At that time, Nepal was in the Division Four. At present, Nepal is a country with ODI and T20I recognition. I feel different in talent ‘, said Pubudu.
The relationship between CAN and some senior players has not been good lately. Gyanendra Malla was removed from the post of captain and Dipendra Singh Airee was removed from the post of vice-captain in. Sompal Kami, Gyanendra, Dipendra and Kamal Singh Airee were told not to be in grade for the first six months of 2022. That issue is being discussed now.
“I was in contact with some players. When I return, everyone is positive. There is very little time to prepare for the T20 World Cup global selection. I think Nepal is ready. We will create a moment in closed training. From now on, Nepal will not have to miss any World Cup, ” Pubudu said.
Nepal is playing ICC T20 Global A in Oman in February. Nepal will have to make it to the top two to qualify for the T20 World Cup in Australia.
