South Africa has achieved a thrilling victory over Bangladesh. South Africa defeated Bangladesh by 4 runs in the ongoing T20 World Cup group D match. Chasing the target of 114 runs given by South Africa, Bangladesh scored only 109 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.
For Bangladesh, Towhid Hridoy scored 37 runs while South African bowler Keshav Maharaj took 3 wickets and Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje took 2 wickets each.
Earlier, South Africa, who batted first, scored 113 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets. For South Africa, Heinrich Klaasen scored 46 runs and David Miller scored 29 runs.
This is South Africa’s third consecutive win in this World Cup. South Africa top Group D with 6 points from 3 games and are almost certain to reach the Super 8. Similarly, this is Bangladesh’s first defeat in 2 matches. Bangladesh had earlier defeated Sri Lanka.
Now Bangladesh will play their next match against Netherlands on June 13, while South Africa is scheduled to play against Nepal on June 17.
