Farewell to the women’s cricket team playing in the Asia Cup 2024
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bid farewell to the players participating in the Asia Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament. Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tankalal Ghising, CAN officials bid farewell to the women’s cricket team.
15 players have been selected under the captaincy of Indu Barma to play in the Asia Cup. Among them are Indu Barma (captain), Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar, Kabita Kunwar, Samjhana Khadka, Kabita Joshi, Pooja Mahato, Dolly Bhatta, Bindu Rawal, Roma Thapa, Mamta Chaudhary, Kritika Marasini, Sabnam Rai, Kajal Shrestha and Rajmati Airee.
Before the Asia Cup, the Nepali women’s team will play a practice match against the Sri Lankan development team in Sri Lanka on July 16, according to CAN.
The Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled to be held from July 19 to July 28, 2024 in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. Eight countries will participate in this edition of the competition.
Along with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the ACC decided to allow the UAE, Malaysia, Nepal and Thailand to reach the semi-finals of the Women’s Premier Cup 2024 to play in the Asia Cup.
Nepal is in Group A in the Asia Cup. Nepal is in Group A along with India, Pakistan and UAE, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand are in Group B.
Nepal will play its first match on the opening day of the Asia Cup against UAE on July 19, while the second match will be played against Pakistan on July 21 and the third match will be played against India on July 23, according to ACC.
