NPL : Lumbini suffers a loss in their last match
Lumbini Lions ended the last match of the Nepal Premier League with a defeat. Karnali Yaks defeated the Lumbini Lions by five runs in the Nepal Premier League (NPL). This win strengthened Karnali’s playoff chances.
Chasing the target of 129 runs given by Karnali, Lumbini could score only 123 runs after losing seven wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Tom Moores top-scored for Lumbini with 36 runs. He hit four fours and a six off 35 balls.
Similarly, Sundeep Jora scored 24 runs, Ashutosh Ghiraiya scored 16, Arjun Saud scored 13, and captain Rohit Lumar Paudel scored 10. Saad Bin Zafar was run out scoring 16 runs.
On the other hand, Zeeshan Maqsood took two wickets, Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Bipin Sharma, and William Bosisto took one wicket each for Karnali.
Before that, Karnali, who lost the toss and batted first, scored 128 runs by losing eight wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
William Bosisto scored 44 runs for Karnali. He hit three fours and three sixes in 30 balls.
Similarly, Arjun Gharti scored 25 runs while Babar Hayat scored 20 runs. Chadwick Walton scored 13 runs while Gulsan Jha was dismissed with eight runs. On the bowling side, Tilak Bhandari and Bikash Aagri took two wickets each for Lumbini.
Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, Saad Bean Zafar, and Ramon Simmonds took one wicket each.
Already out of the playoffs, Lumbini has two points in seven games. Winning Karnali has reached eight points.
