Rising Star Cricket Academy is organizing a U-14 cricket tournament
The U-14 T-20 Boys Open Cricket Tournament is being organized by the Rising Star Cricket Academy. The Rising Star Cricket Academy and Event Management, which is organizing the competition from Bhadra 24 to Asoj 8, announced at a press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The group stage and semi-final matches of the tournament, which is being organized with the aim of encouraging young cricket talent in Nepal, will be held at the Sifal Ground Gaushala, according to the organizers. Speaking at the conference, Sunil Amatya, chairman of the organizing Rising Star Academy, said that the U-14 cricket tournament was organized because the players of the age group will determine the future of Nepali cricket.
Ward Chairman Ramji Bhandari of Kathmandu Ward No. 9, who is also the main sponsor of the competition, wished the organizers well and emphasized that such competitions should be organized regularly.
The technical director of the tournament, Rabindra Gupta, praised the organizers, saying that such a tournament would be important in the development of grassroots cricket and youth cricket.
It was announced through a press conference that the final match of the competition will be held at the Lower or Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground. The organizers have stated that a total of 17 teams will compete in the league and knockout stages of the competition. 5 teams from the Cricket Excellence Center will compete in the competition.
4 from Great Himalaya Cricket Academy, 2 from Oasis Cricket Academy, Kathmandu Cricket Academy, Kings Cricket Academy, Kavre Cricket Academy, One team each from Nexus Cricket Academy, Alpine Academy, and the host Rising Star Cricket Academy will participate. The organizers have stated that the participating teams will be divided into four groups and the top two teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
The winner of the competition will receive 30,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate, and the runner-up will receive 20,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate.
The organizers have informed through a press conference that awards, trophies, and certificates will also be given to the ‘Player of the Tournament’, ‘Best Batter’, ‘Best Bowler,’ and ‘Best Fielder’ in each category of the competition.
