Women’s volleyball team honored with one lakh cash from Kathmandu metropolis

Kathmandu Metropolis honored the runner-up Nepalese team of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Volleyball Nations League.

On Thursday, the officials of the metropolis, including the head of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah (Balen), honored the volleyball players with one lakh each in cash.

Mayor Balen, while awarding cash honors to the runner-up Nepali team’s players, coaches, team managers and therapists on Thursday, said that there is a need for the government mechanism to work to convert the efforts of the players into results for the development of the game. On that occasion, the players were given 1 lakh rupees each, the team manager, head coach, assistant coach and therapist were given certificates of appreciation with 50 thousand rupees each in cash.

Along with captain Aruna Shahi, Niruta Thagunna, Shantikala Tamang, Saraswati Chaudhary, Sumitra Regmi, Usha Bhandari, Kavita Bhatt, Kamana Bista, Sangam Mahato, Safia Pun, Aarti Subedi, Poonam Chand, Pragati Nath and Salina Shrestha are among the players who received the honour.

Similarly, the team manager of the game Nilam Singh Bajracharya, head coach Jagdish Prasad Bhatt and assistant coach Bharat Yadav and therapist Lokendra Bahadur Kunwar are there.
