IPL 2024: Punjab Kings beats Delhi Capitals

Punjab Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets in IPL 2024. Chasing the target of 175 runs given by Delhi, Punjab achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 19.2 overs. Delhi needed 6 runs in the last over to win.

Sumit Kumar bowled the first two balls wide and gave away 2 runs. Sumit then bowled the ball to Liam Livingstone on the back of length for no runs.

The second ball was bowled by Sumit. Livingstoe hit that ball for a six and gave Punjab a win with 4 balls to spare.

Livingstone remained unbeaten on 38 runs. He hit 2 fours and 3 sixes in 21 balls. Harpreet Singh remained unbeaten on 2 runs.

While Punjab’s Sam Curran scored the highest 63 runs, Prabhasimran Singh was dismissed for 26 runs, opener and captain Shikhar Dhawan was out for 22 runs, while Jonny Bairstow and Jitesh Sharma scored 9/9 runs.

Shashank Singh could not open the account. Delhi’s Kuldeep Yadav and Khalil Ahmed took 2 wickets each. Ishant Sharma got 1 wicket.

Before that, Delhi lost the toss at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium and was invited to bat first.

Shai Hope of Delhi scored the highest 33 runs. He hit 2 fours and 2 sixes off 25 balls. Abishek Porel remained unbeaten on 32 runs.

Opener David Warner was dismissed for 29, Axar Patel for 21, Mitchell Marsh for 20 and captain Rishabh Pant for 18 runs. Others did not perform significantly.

Punjab’s Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel took 2 wickets each. Kagiso Rabada, Harpreet Barad and Rahul Chahar took 1 wicket each.
