India defeats Australia to reach Women’s Cricket World Cup final

India has reached the final of the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.
India reached the World Cup final by defeating Australia by 5 wickets in the second semi-final match held last night.

Chasing a target of 339 runs set by Australia, India achieved the target in 48.3 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.

India achieved the victory by chasing the highest target in the history of women’s ODI cricket. Jemimah Rodriguez scored an unbeaten 127 runs in India’s win, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 89 runs.

Earlier, Australia, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 338 runs in 49.5 overs, thanks to a century from Phoebe Litchfield (119) and a 77 from Ellyse Perry.
