Chitwan Rhinos defeated Karnali Yaks by 4 wickets. Chitwan defeated Karnali by 4 wickets in the first match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) held on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 164 runs set by Karnali, Chitwan achieved the target in 19.1 overs, losing 6 wickets. For Chitwan, Ravi Bopara top-scored with 52 runs, while Deepak Bohora scored 42, and Saif Zaib scored 38 runs.
Karnali bowler Sompal Kami took 2 wickets, while Mark Watt and Yuvraj Khatri took one wicket each.
Earlier, Karnali, who had lost the toss and elected to bat first, scored 166 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Priyank Panchal top-scored for Karnali with 90 runs, while Pawan Saraf scored 27 runs.
Mac O’Dowd scored 20 and Mark Watt scored 16 runs. Similarly, Chitwan bowlers Sohail Tanvir, Saif Zaib and Ravi Bopara took one wicket each. Now, the second match of the NPL will be played today between Pokhara Avengers and Biratnagar Kings.
