IPL 2024 : Lucknow Super Giants beats Gujarat Titans
Lucknow Super Giants defeated Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Lucknow defeated Gujarat by 33 runs.
Chasing the target of 164 runs given by Lucknow, Gujarat lost the match by 33 runs after scoring only 130 runs in 18.5 overs.
Sai Sudarshan top scored for Gujarat with 31 runs. Rahul Tewatia scored 30, Shubman Gill 19, Vijay Shankar 17 and Darshan Nalkande scored 12 runs. Yash Thakur’s heroic performance led Lucknow to the victory. Yash Thakur took the highest of 5 wickets. Krunal Pandey took 3 wickets and Naveen-ul- Haq and Ravi Bisnoi took 1 wicket each.
Lucknow batted first and scored 163 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Lucknow, Marcus Stoinis scored a half-century. He scored 58 runs off 43 balls hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. Captain KL Rahul scored 33 runs , Nicholas Pooran scored 32 and Ayush Badoni scored 11 runs while Quinton De Kock was dismissed in just 6 runs.
Gujarat’s Umesh Yadav and Darshan Nalande took 2 wickets each. Rashid Khan got 1 wicket.
After this win, Lucknow has 6 points in 4 matches with 3 wins and 1 loss and is on the third position in the points table. Similarly, Gujarat has 4 points with 2 wins and 3 losses in 5 matches and is in seventh place.
