NPL: Lumbini Lions eliminated

Lumbini Lions got eliminated from the Nepal Premier League. Lumbini Lions lost to Kathmandu Gurkhas by 18 runs in a must-win encounter

Chasing the target of 104 runs given by Kathmandu, Lumbini lost all wickets in 19.1 overs and managed to score only 85 runs.

Sundeep Jora top scored with 26 runs for Lumbini. He hit two fours in 29 balls and was caught out by Karan KC. While Unmukt Chand scored 13 runs, Surya Tamang contributed 11 runs but could not give the team victory. Captain Rohit was dismissed for eight runs.

For Kathmandu, captain Karan KC took four wickets while Dipesh Kandel took three wickets.

Before that, Kathmandu, who won the toss and batted first, lost all their wickets after scoring 103 runs in 19.2 overs.

Bhim Sarki scored the most 31 runs for Kathmandu. He hit a boundary off 40 balls.

With the win, Kathmandu has climbed to fourth place in the table with two losses and two wins in four matches. With this win, Kathmandu’s playoff chances have become stronger.
