IPL 2024 : MI lost to CSK despite of Rohit Sharma’s century
Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 20 runs in last night’s match of IPL. Chasing the target of 207 runs given by Chennai, Mumbai lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored only 186 runs.
Rohit Sharma scored 105 runs for Mumbai but could not win. Ishan Kishan scored 23, Surya Kumar Yadav went for a duck, Tilak Varma scored 31, Tim David scored 13, Hardik Pandya scored just 2 runs, Romario Shepherd got out in just one run. Matheesa Pathirana took the highest 4 wickets while giving victory to Chennai. Tushar Despande and Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket each for Chennai.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Chennai batted first and scored 206 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. For Chennai, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 69, Shivam Duve 66, Rachin Ravindra 21 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 20 runs in 4 balls.
After this win, Chennai has 8 points with 4 wins in 6 games and has climbed to the third position in the points table. Similarly, this is Mumbai’s fourth defeat. Mumbai has 4 points after winning 2 matches in 6 matches.
