Top End T-20 series: Nepal’s first victory, Nandan’s 5-wicket haul

Nepal sealed its first victory in the Top End T-20 series today. Nepal defeated Hobart Hurricanes Academy by 66 runs. Chasing a target of 181 runs set by Nepal today as part of the ongoing Top End T20 series in Australia, Hobart Hurricanes Academy were all out in 16.1 overs, scoring only 114 runs.

Nandan Yadav took 5 wickets while Rijan Dhakal, Rohit Poudel, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Kushal Bhurtel took one wicket each in Nepal’s victory.

Earlier, Nepal, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 180 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Nepal, Aarif Sheikh scored 33 runs, while Aasif Sheikh scored 29, Kushal Bhurtel scored 27, and Lokesh Bam scored an unbeaten 25 runs. Nepal dropped Dipendra Singh Airee in today’s game, considering his poor form in this tournament.

Hurricanes bowlers Nivethan Radhakrishnan and Raphael McMillan took 2 wickets each, while Marcus Bean and Gabriel Bell took one wicket each.

Nepal is now scheduled to play the next match against the Melbourne Renegades tomorrow.
