Patan High Court issues a short-term order to halt the ANFA election process
The Patan High Court has ordered to stop the election process of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
A bench of Patan High Court Judge Kripasur Karki has issued a short-term order to stop any activities related to the ANFA elections scheduled to be held on Magh 12 until an interim order is issued. A hearing has been scheduled for Magh 6 to discuss the interim order. ANFA had also made the election schedule public for the election.
The controversy has escalated after ANFA went ahead with the election process against the instructions given by the National Sports Council. ANFA officials had filed a petition with the National Sports Council (NSC) to stop the election as it was going against the constitution.
Amit Khatri had filed a writ petition in the High Court after ANFA moved ahead with the election process against the directives of the National Football Council.
ANFA, on the other hand, had applied for approval for the election. Earlier, the NSC had directed to hold level-level elections on the 21s,t along with amending the statute.
