Saif Ali Zaib to play from Sudupaschim Royals
English cricketer Saif Ali Zaib has been signed by Sudurpaschim Royals for the first edition of the Nepal Premier League. The 26-year-old left-arm all-rounder has a wealth of experience in county cricket.
Zaib, who played for Northants in the T20 home tournament of England last month, has also been playing regularly in the second division of the county.
After making his first-class cricket debut at 16 in 2015, he also played age-group cricket for England. He has scored 1200 runs at a strike rate of over 140 in his T20 career and has taken 12 wickets at an average of 33 while bowling part-time.
Royals have already signed Scotland’s all-rounder Brandon McMallen as the first foreign player. Similarly, Australia’s World Cup winner former cricketer Brad Hodge is a major mentor.
Jagat Tamata is the head coach of Sudurpaschim Royals, where Dipendra Singh Airee has been a marquee player. NPL will start on the 30th of November with the participation of 8 teams organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
