IPL : Punjab Kings beats Rajasthan Royals
Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets. Chasing the target of 145 runs given by Rajasthan, Punjab achieved the target by losing 5 wickets in 18.5 overs.
Punjab captain Sam Curran scored the highest 63 runs off 41 balls. Rilee Rossouw and Jitesh Sharma scored 22-22 runs each. Ashutosh Sharma scored 17 runs , Jonny Bairstow scored 14 runs, Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed for 6 runs and Sashank Singh went for a duck for Punjab Kings.
Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each for Rajasthan Royals.
Earlier, Rajasthan batted first and scored 144 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Riyan Parag scored the highest of 48 runs off 34 balls for Rajasthan. Ravichandran Ashwin scored 28 runs, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Captain Sanju Samson were dismissed for 18 runs, Trent Boult got out for 12 runs, Donovan Ferreira scored 7, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rovman Powell scored 4 runs each, Avesh Khan scored 3 while Dhruv Jurel went for a duck for Rajasthan.
Harshal Patel, Sam Curran, Rahul Chahar took 2 wickets ,Arshdeep Singh and Nathan Ellis took one wicket each for Punjab Kings.
This is Punjab’s fifth win this season. Punjab, which has 10 points in 13 games, has already been eliminated from the race for the playoffs.
Similarly, this is the fifth defeat of Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan have suffered consecutive defeats in their last four matches. Rajasthan has 16 points from 13 matches and is second in the points table. Rajasthan has already qualified for the playoffs.
