ICC U-19 WC : New Zealand beats Nepal

Nepal lost to New Zealand by 64 runs in the on going ICC U-19 World Cup . Even though Arjun Kumal scored 90 runs with a brilliant batting for Nepal, This wasn’t enough for the win .

Chasing the target of 303 runs given by New Zealand, Nepal scored 238 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Kumal scored 90 runs by hitting 12 fours in 104 balls . Similarly, Nepal’s captain Dev Khanal scored 36 runs, Subash Bhandari scored 33 unbeaten runs, Deepak Bohora scored 15 runs, Akash Chand scored 14 runs and Tilak Bhandari scored 17 runs unbeaten.

Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, New Zealand scored 302 runs losing 8 wickets in 50 overs.

Snehit Reddy played an unbeaten century of 147 runs for New Zealand. Captain Oscar Jackson was dismissed after scoring 75 runs. Nepali bowler Subash Bhandari took 3 wickets, Gulshan Jha took 2 wickets and Dipesh Kandel, Tilak Bhandari and Akash Tripathi took one wicket each.

Along with this, in Group D, New Zealand and Pakistan won their first match and got 2-2 points, while Nepal and Afghanistan lost their respective matches.

Nepal is now scheduled to play another match against Pakistan on January 24 and Afghanistan on January 26.
