Nepal Tastes Defeat in First Practice Match Against Scotland

The first practice match for the Nepali national cricket team in South Africa ended in a defeat on Thursday. At Pretoria’s Tuks Oval, Scotland defeated Nepal by seven wickets.

Scotland successfully completed their target in 29 overs while chasing a score of just 133 runs with only losing three wickets.

Richie Berrington and Brandon McMullen significantly hurt the Nepal team despite the Nepalese fast bowlers grabbing three early wickets. The first wicket was taken by Sompal Kami, and Nepal rejoined the match when Gulshan Jha bowled McBride and Geroge Munsey out in the very next delivery.

Previously, Nepal was given a shot to bat first after losing the toss, however they only scored 132 runs in 28.5 overs.

With 37 runs, Kushal Malla led all batsmen. In a 26-ball innings, he hit two sixers and four boundaries. 28 runs from 36 balls were scored by Aasif Sheikh. Kushal Bhurtel scored 16 runs, and Dipendra Singh Airee contributed with 13. Other batters were unable to reach double-digit sums.

For Scotland, Jack Jarvis and McMullen both took three wickets. Sharif, a fast bowler, also claimed two wickets.
