ICC T-20 CWC : South Africa beats Netherlands
South Africa has won a hard-fought victory against the Netherlands. South Africa defeated the Netherlands by 4 wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup Group D match.
Chasing the target of only 104 runs given by the Netherlands in the match completed last night, South Africa achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 18.5 overs. In South Africa’s victory, David Miller scored an unbeaten 59 runs and Kristen Stubbs scored 33 runs.
The Netherlands kept South Africa under pressure from the start. South Africa, who lost the first wicket for zero, lost their important 4 wickets while scoring 12 runs.
But Stubbs and Miller got the win after some smart batting. Vivian Kingma and Logan Van Beek took 2 wickets each for the Netherlands. Earlier, Netherlands lost the toss and batted first and scored 103 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets.
Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 40 runs for the Netherlands and Logan van Beek scored 23 runs. Similarly, South African bowler Otneil Baartman took 4 wickets while Enrich Nokia and Marco Janssen took 2 wickets each.
After this win, South Africa has 4 points from 2 matches in Group D with both wins and is in the top position. Similarly, the Netherlands has 2 points in 2 games.
Now the next match South Africa is scheduled to play against Bangladesh on June 10, while the Netherlands will play against Bangladesh on June 13.
