NPL-2: Lumbini Lions’ second win, Pokhara Avengers lost by 3 wickets
Lumbini Lions have defeated Pokhara Avengers by 3 wickets in the first match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). Lumbini defeated Pokhara by 3 wickets in the first match held on Saturday. Chasing the target of 151 runs set by Pokhara, Lumbini achieved the target in 19.4 overs, losing 7 wickets.
In Lumbini’s win, captain Rohit Poudel top-scored with 40 runs, while Niroshan Dickwella scored 37, Sandeep Jora scored an unbeaten 25, and Gulbadin Naib scored 17 runs.
Similarly, Pokhara bowlers Bipin Khatri, Matt Taylor and Sagar Dhakal took 2 wickets each. Earlier, Pokhara, who had lost the toss and elected to bat first, scored 150 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Adam Rossington top-scored for Pokhara with 81 runs, while Jimmy Neesham scored an unbeaten 51 runs. Similarly, Lumbini’s bowlers Tilak Bhandari and Sher Malla took 2 wickets each, while Gulbadin Naib took one wicket.
After this win, Lumbini has won its second win in 5 matches, while Pokhara has suffered its third defeat in the fourth match.
