IPL : Kolkata Knight Riders wins IPL 2024 title
Kolkata Knight Riders have won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title. Kolkata defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets and won the IPL title for the third time. Kolkata won the IPL title for the third time after 2012 and 2014. Kolkata reached the final in 2021 and was defeated.
Chasing the target of 114 runs given by Sunrisers, Kolkata achieved the target by losing 2 wickets in 10.3 overs. For Kolkata, Venkatesh Iyer scored 52 runs while Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 39 runs.
After winning the toss, Sunrisers batted first and scored 113 runs in 18.3 overs.
For Sunrisers, captain Pat Cummins scored 24 runs while Aiden Markram scored 20 runs. Andre Russell took the most 3 wickets for KKR while Harshit Rana and Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets each.
