IPL 2024 : Rajasthan Royals beats Punjab Kings
Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings by 3 wickets. Chasing the target of 148 runs given by Punjab, Rajasthan achieved the target by losing 7 wickets in 19.5 overs. Earlier, batting first, Punjab scored 147 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Rajasthan opener Yashshwi Jaiswal scored the highest 39 run. Tanus Kotian was dismissed for 24, Riyan Parag for 23 and captain Sanju Samson for 18 while Shimron Hetmyer remained unbeaten on 27. Punjab’s Kagiso Rawada and Sam Karan took 2 wickets each.
After losing the toss and starting batting, Punjab scored 147 runs losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Ashutosh Sharma of Punjab scored the highest 31 runs. He hit 1 four and 3 sixes in 16 balls. Jitesh Sharma was dismissed for 29, Liam Livingstone for 21 and Jonny Bairstow for 15 runs. Avesh Khan and Keshav Maharaj of Rajasthan took 2 wickets each.
After this win, Rajasthan has 10 points in 6 matches with 5 wins and 1 loss and is at the top of the points table.
