Tirhut Tigers wins Saptari Premier League

Tirhut Tigers have won the 6th edition of Rajbiraj Mayor Cup Saptari Premier League. Tirhut Tigers defeated Chinnamasta Lions by 31 runs in the final held on Monday at the Public Bindeshwari Ground in Rajbiraj, Saptari.

Chasing the target of 92 runs given by Tirhut Tigers, Chinnamasta Lions lost all their wickets for 60 runs in 14 overs. For Chinnamasta, Bishal Patel scored 14 runs, Mayan Yadav scored 13 runs and Firdosh Ansari scored 12 unbeaten runs.

National cricketer Bhim Sarki could not even open his account with 4 of his batters. In Tirhut’s bowling, left-arm spinner Dipesh Kandel took the most 4 wickets during which he spent 25 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, captain Anil Yadav, who was declared the player of the match, took 3 wickets in which 15 runs were spent in 3 overs. Basir Ahmed took 2 wickets and Abhishek Karki took 1 wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, Tirhut Tigers scored 91 runs after losing all wickets in the scheduled 18.4 overs.

Bhola Kumar Sah contributed the most 29 runs for Tirhut. Other than Basir Ahmed scoring 18 runs and Rupesh Singh scoring 10 runs, the other batsmen could not score runs in double figures. In Chinnamasta’s bowling, Bishal Patel, Firdosh Ansari, Gunanand Roy and Sumit Newar took 2 wickets each. Tirhut Tigers got Rs 3 lakh with the title.

The runner-up Chinnamasta Lions got Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand. Basir Ahmed of Tirhut Tigers was declared the best player of the tournament who scored 108 runs in 6 matches and also took 10 wickets.

Similarly, Bishal Patel of Chinnamasta Lions was declared the best bowler who took 15 wickets in 7 matches. The best batsman was Kanchanrup Shubh Kanskar of Rhinos who scored 297 runs in 7 matches. Similarly, Mohammad Sohail Khan of Chinnamasta Lions was declared the emerging player who took 12 wickets in 7 matches.

Tirhut Tigers captain Anil Kumar Yadav was declared the player of the match in the final match. The best player of the tournament received Rs 25,000, the best bowler and batsman received Rs 15,000 and the emerging player received a cricket kit.
