Sandeep Lamichhane’s all round performance led Nepal to win over Qatar
Nepal had a great victory over Qatar in the last match of group A in the ACC Premier Cup,. Chasing a target of 158 runs, Nepal bowled out Qatar for 89 runs in 25.1 overs and won by 68 runs.

For Qatar, Dahab Ibrahim and Khurram Shahzad scored 15 runs each, while Amir Farooq scored 14 runs. Other batsmen of Qatar could not score runs in double figures. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took the highest 5 wickets. Sandeep took 5 wickets for 14 runs in 9.1 overs. Similarly, Sompal Kami took 3 wickets and Lalit Rajbanshi took 2 wickets.

Earlier, after losing the toss against Qatar, Nepal batted first and scored 157 runs in 40.3 overs. Sandeep Lamichhane scored the highest 42 runs for Nepal and Lalit Rajbanshi supported him by sharing 46 runs for the last wicket. Lalit scored 1 run. Similarly, captain Rohit Paudel scored 27 runs, while Asif Sheikh scored 19, Gulshan Jha 7, Dipendra Singh Airi 12, Arif Sheikh 11, Sompal Kami 11, Kushal Malla 3, Bhim Sarki scored 6 and Kushal Bhurtel scored 2 runs.

Qatar’s Amir Farooq took the most 4 wickets, Owasis Ahmed took 3 wickets, Gayan Munaweera took 2 wickets and Ikramullah Ahmed took one wicket. After this victory, Nepal has reached the semi-finals as the group winner with 7 points in 4 games in Group A.
