ICC T-20 WC : West Indies beats PNG by 5 wickets

The West Indies have made a winning start in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. In last night’s match, West Indies defeated PNG by 5 wickets.

Chasing the target of 137 runs given by PNG, West Indies achieved the target by losing 5 wickets in 19 overs.

In West Indies’ victory, Roston Chase scored an unbeaten 42 runs, while Brandon King scored 34 runs and Nicholas Pooran scored 27 runs.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, PNG scored 136 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. For PNG, Sese Bau scored 50 runs while Kiplin Doriga scored 27 runs and captain Assad Vala scored 21 runs.

Along with this, West Indies in Group B have added 2 important points.

Now West Indies are scheduled to play their next match against Uganda on June 9, and before that, PNG is scheduled to play against Uganda on June 6.
