CAN suspends Sandeep Lamichhane
Sandeep Lamichhane has been suspended by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
Sandeep, who was found guilty of rape, was sentenced to eight years in prison by the court on Thursday and was suspended from domestic and international matches by CAN.
Chatur Bahadur Chand, Chairman of the CAN through a press release, informed that Lamichhane is banned from playing both domestic and international cricket. The decision was made after Lamichhane was convicted of rape by the Kathmandu District Court (KDC).
The bench of Judge Shishirraj Dhakal on Wednesday ordered Sandeep to be imprisoned for eight years and to pay a compensation of 5 lakhs.
