Nepal women’s football team wins FIFA international women’s football series
Nepal has won the title of the FIFA international women’s football series 2023. In the second friendly football match, Nepal’s national women’s football team defeated Bangladesh.
Nepal won the title by defeating Bangladesh 4-2 in a tiebreaker in the match held at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mustofa Kamal Stadium in Kamalpur, Dhaka.
After a goalless draw at the scheduled time, the match was decided directly by the tiebreaker. Sabitra Bhandari, Hira Bhujel, Deepa Shahi, Anita KC hit the net in the tiebreaker. Anjana Rana Magar’s shot hit the fence.
Bangladesh’s Samsunar and Monika Chakma’s shots were saved by Nepal’s goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar and Maria Manda’s shot hit the net of the post.
Nepal played a one-goal draw against Bangladesh in the first friendly match. Sabitra Bhandari equalized for Nepal. The friendly match is also a preparation for the 19th Asian Games to be held by Nepal in Hongzhou, China.
