APF wins PM Cup Women’s national tournament

The departmental team APF has won the Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s national tournament by defeating Koshi Pradesh by 11 runs in the thrilling final held at Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur.

Chasing the target of 115 runs given by APF, Koshi scored 103 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Rubina Chhetri scored 62 runs for Koshi while Kajal Shrestha contributed 22 runs.

Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, APF club scored 114 runs losing seven wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Indu Burma scored a half-century for APF. She played 47 balls and contributed 53 runs. Burma hit six fours and one six. Similarly, Jyoti Pandey scored 27 runs and Roma Thapa scored 14 runs.

Similarly, Apsari Begum scored a hat-trick for Koshi on the bowling side. She took consecutive wickets in the first, second and third balls of the 20th over. Begum took the wicket of Indu Burma in the first ball, Neri Thapa in the second ball and Sonu Khadka in the third ball. Similarly, Elisha Khadia took two wickets and captain Ruveena Chhetri and Nisha Shah took one wicket each.

Similarly, the winner of the competition, APF, received five lakhs and the runner-up, Koshi Pradesh, received three lakhs.
