IPL 2024 : Chennai beats RCB in the opening match
Chennai Super Kings have made a winning start in the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Chennai, which is also the defending champions of IPL, started the season victoriously by defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 6 wickets.
Chasing the target of 174 runs given by Bengaluru, Chennai achieved the target by losing 4 wickets in 18.5 overs.
In Chennai’s victory, Rachin Ravindra scored a career-high 37 runs. Rachin, who was playing a DeVue IPL match, scored 37 runs in 15 balls. Similarly, Azikhya Rahane scored 27 runs, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 15 runs, Daryl Mitchell scored 22 runs, Shivam Duve scored 26 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 28 runs.
Similarly, Bengaluru bowler Cameron Green took 2 wickets while Karan Sharma and Yash Dayal took one wicket each.
Earlier, Bengaluru, who won the toss and batted first, scored 173 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Anuj Rawat scored 48 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rawat scored 48 runs in 25 balls with aggressive batting. Similarly, Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 38 runs off 26 balls, while captain Faf du Plessis scored 35 runs, Virat Kohli scored 21 runs and Cameron Greene scored 18 runs.
Similarly, Chennai’s bowler Mustafizur Rahman took the most 4 wickets. Rahman took 4 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Deepak Chahar took one wicket.
