India wins the ICC T-20 cricket World Cup 2026

India has won the ICC T20 World Cup. India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final match held on Sunday to win the World Cup title. Chasing a target of 256 runs set by India, New Zealand were all out for 159 runs in 19 overs.

For New Zealand, Tim Seifert top-scored with 52 runs, while captain Mitchell Santner scored 43 and Daryl Mitchell scored 17 runs. Similarly, Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets while Akshar Patel took 3 wickets. Similarly, Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy took one wicket each.

Earlier, India, who had lost the toss and elected to bat first, scored 255 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For India, Sanju Samson top-scored with 89 runs, while Ishan Kishan scored 54 runs. Similarly, Abhishek Sharma scored 52, and Shivam Dube scored 26 runs unbeaten, while Hardik Pandya scored 18 runs.

New Zealand bowler James Neesham took 3 wickets, while Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra took one wicket each. With this, India has won the T20 World Cup title for the third time. India has previously won the World Cup title in 2007 and 2024.

New Zealand has become the runner-up of the T20 World Cup for the second time. Previously, New Zealand lost to Australia in the final in 2021.
